The Himalaya Kingdom of Nepal stretches from east to west in a rectangular shape with Tibet in the north and India on the other three sides. Geographically Nepal is divided lengthwise into three strips. Travel to the northernmost of Nepal in the Himalaya you will discover the Mount Everest rising up, and tour Nepal’s southern strip you could explore a jungle of elephants, rhinoceroses and tigers, which is an extension of the Gangetic plain of northern India, while holiday at the Nepalese regions in between, you will enjoy the mountains, hills and valleys. The people of Nepal are predominantly Hindus leading a unique and devout religious way of life.
The Royal capital Kathmandu is an exotic place with array of Pagodas dedicated to every deity in the Hindu pantheon and many delightful Buddhist sculptures. Tours and holidays in Kathmandu will encounter numerous historical and cultural sites in and around the city, such as Swayambu Nath, Patan, Pashupati Nath, Bouddha Nath, and Bhadgaon.
Tibet, being regarded as the roof of the world, remains an enthralling land of mountains, monasteries, and monks with one of the most extraordinary cultures in the world. To the east, geographically and culturally Tibet is fused to China’s Sichuan province at their mountainous seam. Flight to Kathmandu with Gulf Air or Qatar Airways.)  

 

Day 02  Kathmandu

Arrive at Kathmandu. Met by our tour representative at the airport arrival and transfer

To Hotel Himalaya 4 star for 3 nights stay. Free time for the rest of the day to acclimatize yourself to the locality. (L, D)

 

Day 03  Kathmandu

In the morning, sightseeing in the Kathmandu city, and visit the Swayambhunath Stupa - said to be 2,000 years old, with all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha painted on all sides of its spire. After lunch, tour the Patan City, the city of fine arts, enclosed with four stupas said to be built in 3rd century A.D. (B, L, D)

 

Day 04  Kathmandu

In the morning tour Pashupatinath, one of the holiest Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and the centre of annual pilgrimage, followed by visiting Bodhnath Stupa - one of the biggest of its kind, with four pairs of eyes in the four cardinal directions keeping watch for righteous behaviour and human prosperity. After lunch, tour Bhadgaon, the city of devotees and the home of medieval art and architecture, which was founded in the 9th century and shaped like a conch shell. In Bhadgaon you will also visit the Durbar Square with it’s array of temples overlooked by the Palace of 55 windows built by King Bhupatindra Malla. (B, L, D)  

 

Day 05  Kathmandu/Lhasa

Transfer to airport for flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa. Upon arrival at Lhasa, met by our tour representative and transfer to Lhasa International Grand Hotel for 3 nights stay. Free time at own leisure to acclimatize the high altitude. (Kathmandu is 1200m above sea level while Lhasa is 3650m or over 12,000 feet above the sea level. So it needs some time to acclimatize the altitude). (B, L, D)

 

Day 06  Lhasa

The tour starts with the Sera monastery the 2nd biggest Gelupa Monastery built in 1419 and located in north of Lhasa. Then onwards visit to the Jokhang Temple situated at the heart of the oldest section of Lhasa city, built in the 7th century. You will also tour the Barkor street, which is the middle pilgrimage circuit around Jokhang temple. (B, L, D)

 

Day 07  Lhasa 

Full day tour in Lhasa. First you will visit the Potala Palace, a huge walled castle of buildings springs from the hillside above Lhasa like a medieval fortress built between 1645 and 1693. Here you’ll access both the outer section called the White Palace and the inner one called the Red Palace, viewing the well-preserved apartments of the 13th and 14th Dalai Lamas for a taste of their rarefied world and Tibetan Buddhism. You will then tour the Drepung Monastery, the biggest Gelupa monastery, built in the mid-18th century by the 7th Dalai Lama. The tour will also take you to Norbulingka, a complex sitting in a 98-acre park and served as Dalai Lama’s Summer Palace. (B, L, D)

 

Day 08  Gyantse

Car travel from Lhasa to Gyantse, an old authentic Tibetan town lies about 170 miles southwest of Lhasa on the northern bank of Nyang Chu river, which has also been known as a heroic town since Tibetans resisted the Young Husband’s British Expedition force to Tibet in 1904. On the way, you will cross the Kamba La Pass (16,000 feet above sea level) with the stunning view of the Yamdrok Tso Lake, and the Karo La Pass (16,500 feet above sea level) with the year-round glacier. Overnight stay at Gyantse hotel 3 star. (B, L, D)

 

Day 09  Gyantse/Shigatse

In the morning, tour the Pecho Monastery and the marvellous octagonal Kunbum Stupa rising up within the walls with nine tiers, 75 chapels and 108 gates. After lunch, car travel to Shigatse, Tibet’s 2nd largest and holiest city. On the way visit Tashilunpo Monastery, the seat of the 2nd holiest man in Tibetan Buddhism the Panchan Lama. Overnight stay at Shigatse Hotel 3 star. (B, L, D)

 

Day 10 Tsedang

Car travel from Shigatse to Tsedang. Cross the Yarlung Tsampo River on a ferry and visit the Samye monastery, built in the 8th century. Overnight stay at Tsedang Hotel 3 star.  (B, L, D)

 

Day 11 Tsedang

Visit the Tomb of the Tibetan Kings in the Chonje Valley, and YumbuLhakhang Palace built for the first King in Tibetan history in the 2nd century. You will also visit the Chamdrok Temples built in the 7th century. Overnight stay at Tsedang Hotel 3 star. (B, L, D)

 

Day 12  Lhasa/Kathmandu

Transfer to Lhasa airport for flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, me by our tour representative and transfer to Hotel Himalaya 4 star. Farewell dinner in the evening with typical Nepali cuisine at local restaurant in Kathmandu. (B, L, D)

 

Day 13  Kathmandu/UK

Transfer to Airport for flight to the UK with Gulf Air or Qatar Airways. (B)
